Eline Van der Velden responds to Tilly Norwood backlash

Eline Van der Velden, the creator of AI-generated actress Tilly Norwood, has addressed the intense criticism surrounding her creation. In her statement, she emphasized that Norwood is not intended to replace human actors. She wrote, “To those who have expressed anger over the creation of my AI character, Tilly Norwood, she is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work – a piece of art.”

Van der Velden further described the process as “an act of imagination and craftsmanship.” She added, “It takes time, skill, and iteration to bring such a character to life. She represents experimentation, not substitution.” (via Deadline)
