Tyra Banks Joins Bel-Air Season 4 Cast 32 Years After Fresh Prince Role

A former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star has been announced as a guest in the final season of Bel-Air. The actor will appear in a new role more than three decades after first joining the original sitcom.

Tyra Banks to guest star in Bel-Air’s final season

Tyra Banks will guest star in the fourth and final season of Bel-Air, Peacock’s reimagining of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The streamer confirmed the casting, which marks her return to the franchise 32 years after she played Jackie Ames. In the original series, Jackie was Will’s ex-girlfriend from Philadelphia. In Bel-Air, Banks will play a former college classmate with a strong personality. Viv (Cassandra Freeman) will be reunited with her. (via EW)

Banks is the fifth alum from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to appear in the reimagined show. Each has taken on new roles. Daphne Maxwell Reid, the second Aunt Viv, appeared in the first season of the new show as Helen. Vernee Watson-Johnson, who played Will’s mother Vy Smith, returned in the same season as Janice. Joseph Marcell, the original Geoffrey, appeared in season three as someone from the new Geoffrey’s past. Tatyana Ali, the original Ashley Banks, joined the second season as teacher Mrs. Hughes.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air gave Banks one of her first acting roles. She later became known for her modeling career and as the host of America’s Next Top Model. In the sitcom, she won recognition for her chemistry with Will Smith, especially in their frequent clashes.

Season four of Bel-Air follows Will (Jabari Banks) in his senior year as he balances fun with high expectations. Carlton (Olly Sholotan) faces fallout from past choices. Phillip (Adrian Holmes) and Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola) confront a power shift that strains their loyalty. Viv searches for a new perspective on motherhood. Hilary (Coco Jones) begins a journey of self-discovery. Ashley (Akira Akbar) enters high school and wrestles with rebellion.

Bel-Air Season 4 premieres November 24 on Peacock.
