Keanu Reeves’ publicist has stepped in to address circulating rumors indicating that the actor had married Alexandra Grant, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2018.
The speculation, which gained traction online, claimed that Reeves and the visual artist had recently tied the knot in a private ceremony. In response to the rumors, Reeves’ spokesperson told E! News on September 22, “It is not true. They are not married.”
Despite the false rumors of their wedding, Reeves and Grant’s relationship continues to thrive. Most recently, the visual artist shared an Instagram post earlier this month in honor of Reeves’ 61st birthday. She wrote, “Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday… he was well-celebrated!” Grant concluded with, “And to Keanu – who saw this post as a draft! – I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Over the years, Grant and Reeves have intentionally maintained a private relationship. They first met before the publication of their 2011 collaborative picture book, Ode to Happiness, which Reeves wrote and Grant illustrated. Their professional collaboration continued in 2016 with the book Shadows, and they went on to co-found their own publishing house, X Artists’ Books, in the following year.
Their romantic relationship became public in 2019 when they made their debut as a couple at the LACMA Art + Film Gala. Since that public reveal, the couple has occasionally shared glimpses into their life together.
