Noah Centineo goes viral for supporting Jimmy Kimmel
Noah Centineo became the focus of online criticism after posting a screenshot showing he had canceled his Disney+ subscription.
He said the move was in response to Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension. The actor urged his 13.6 million followers to “save money today” by canceling the service.
He linked the action to Disney’s decision to remove Kimmel’s late-night show. Social media users quickly noted the screenshot showed an expiration date of September 18, 2026.

Comments online accused him of “performative activism.” One user wrote, “We are all here because he purchased a Disney subscription JUST TO CANCEL IT ON THE SAME DAY! what a hero!” Another added, “Did you buy a year of disney+ just to cancel it for ur story hahahahha.” A separate comment read, “You are the definition of ‘performative.’” Others pointed out, “Imagine being rich enough to buy a whole year subscription and canceling it to prove something online.” (via Daily Mail)
Centineo’s action follows a wider boycott movement against Disney+, also supported by She-Hulk: Attorney at Law actor Tatiana Maslany. Both stars cited the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel as their reason for canceling.
Kimmel had come under fire after comments about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.”
ABC suspended Kimmel indefinitely last Wednesday but announced on Monday that he would return. The network said, “We have spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy, and after those conversations, we reached the decision to return the show on Tuesday.” Affiliates Nexstar and Sinclair initially pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live! from their stations, with Sinclair stating, “Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return.”
