Hulk Hogan’s ex-wife, Linda, speculated on the reason behind his exclusion from the In Memoriam segment at the Primetime Emmys. She thinks the prestigious event intentionally skipped him due to his political views. For context, Hogan was a key supporter of Donald Trump–J.D. Vance ticket at the Republican National Convention in 2024.
Linda Hogan on why Hulk Hogan was snubbed from Emmys’ In Memoriam
Linda shared her take on Hogan’s snub from the Emmys In Memoriam segment. She speculated that the Emmys might not have included him due to his political views. “I can’t prove that. It’s just a guess, but they should have named him!!,” she said.
Linda further emphasized why he deserved the shoutout at the Emmys, reminding everyone of WWF’s high ratings on NBC during Hulk’s presence. She revealed that her speculated reason about his snub is only a guess, based on Hulk’s treatment in LA. “WWF at the top of the hour when he came on to wrestle…[Hulk] had the highest ratings on NBC, beating all other competition for that time slot for years!. I really can’t tell you why they left him out…just a guess considering the way he was treated at his last appearance in LA,” she added. (via Entertainment Weekly)
Linda and Hulk Hogan’s paths reportedly crossed at a restaurant in Los Angeles in the early 1980s. They clicked instantly, and their relationship gradually grew. The couple tied the knot in 1983. They welcomed two children, named Brooke and Nick, in 1988 and 1990, respectively. Their lives were chronicled on the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best. After being together for 24 years, the duo parted ways, with the reason cited as “irreconcilable differences.”
Hogan passed away at 71 in July 2025. At the time, the reason for his death remained publicly undisclosed. But, a week later, PEOPLE reported that he died of acute myocardial infarction, also known as a heart attack.
