The Dutton Ranch Yellowstone spin-off adds Jai Courtney to cast
Jai Courtney has joined the cast of The Dutton Ranch, the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off centered around Beth and Rip. Variety reports that Courtney will play Rob-Will, an “imposing, unpredictable ranch foreman.” Courtney joins Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, who reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, along with Finn Little as Carter. Annette Bening and Ed Harris will also reportedly take on major roles in the spinoff.
The official logline for the series states: “Beth Dutton (Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be.”
Courtney notably played Captain Boomerang in both Suicide Squad films. He’s also known for his roles in Terminator Genisys, the Divergent franchise, The Water Diviner, Unbroken, and Buffaloed. His television credits include The Terminal List, American Primeval, Kaleidoscope, and Stateless.
Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios will produce the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off. Chad Feehan will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Taylor Sheridan will head the executive team with Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, and Keith Cox. Voros will also direct.
The Dutton Ranch expands Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe, which already includes 1883, 1923, and 6666. The series will continue the saga of Beth and Rip while introducing new characters. It is expected to premiere in 2026.
