Adolescence’s Owen Cooper Finally Meets His Idol & It’s the Best Thing You’ll See Today

In a sweet development, Adolescence’s teenage star, Owen Cooper, had the chance to meet his idol, Jake Gyllenhaal, ahead of the Emmy Awards. The teenager later set a record at the Emmys by becoming the youngest male actor to win the prestigious award. However, one of his dreams came true even before that when Gyllenhaal arrived to surprise the young actor, who has often praised the Nightcrawler star.

Jake Gyllenhaal creates a wholesome moment for Owen Cooper

Owen Cooper’s fans are well aware of how often the young actor has expressed his admiration for Jake Gyllenhaal, who remains one of the most acclaimed actors in the world. Cooper talked about Gyllenhaal in several interviews and appearances before this, making it clear that Gyllenhaal was his favorite actor and idol.

Therefore, it came as a shocking yet pleasant surprise when Cooper, in the middle of an interview speaking about Gyllenhaal, saw the actor walk in. The young actor’s shock was clearly visible on his face, as seen in the video shared by Netflix’s @netflixtudum on Instagram.

Cooper struggled to wrap his head around the fact that this was happening, but the moment left him delighted. Gyllenhaal greeted him, talked to him, and even gave him a little gift.

Gyllenhaal gave the young actor a rubber duck. “I made this movie and I got nominated for an Academy Award,” he explained to Cooper, “and a friend of mine sent me this before — something just like this. It’s just a lucky duck.”

Interestingly, this duck did turn out to be lucky for Owen Cooper, who won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series at the Emmy Awards. This also made Cooper the youngest actor to achieve the feat.

Overall, several great things happened for the 15-year-old actor in a short span, and he certainly will not be complaining about any of it.
