Why Sofía Vergara didn’t make it to Emmys 2025
On September 14, 2025, America’s Got Talent judge Sofia Vergara experienced a sudden eye allergy. The reaction occurred right before she was about to leave for the 77th Emmy Awards. She took to her official Instagram account to update fans on her health and explain why she was missing the award ceremony this year.
Vergara uploaded a photo and clips of herself from the hospital in a carousel post. It was accompanied by a caption that read, “Didn’t make it to the Emmys but made it to the ER. [Sorry] I had to cancel! Craziest eye [allergy] right before getting in the car!”
The first slide is a close-up photo of her eye allergy. The second slide shows her lying on a hospital bed, and the third slide shows Vergara rinsing her eye.
The Emmys this year had scheduled the 53-year-old actress to present an award. She was part of the star-studded lineup, according to the press release. Following the post, her followers and other celebrities, including Terry Crews, commented with well-wishes for a speedy recovery.
