Meghan Markle’s Royal Life ‘Fantasy’ Crashed Soon After She Realized It Wasn’t for Her, Says Expert

It appears Meghan Markle may have had a different portrayal of royal life in mind when she married Prince Harry. After tying the knot in 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent shockwaves in the British monarchy when they stepped down from their public roles in 2020 and pursued a life in the United States. Recent reports have now shed some light on how Markle had a different idea about royal life, thinking she would be living like a “Disney princess.” However, things soon took a turn when she stepped into the senior role.

Meghan Markle had different idea about royal life but that changed quickly, says expert

According to experts, Meghan Markle had a different idea about royal life before marrying Prince Harry, but that changed quickly. Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, recently told Fox News what the former actor thought being a “princess” would be like. The expert claimed that Markle “did feel” that it would be “something sparkly and fun.” Chard continued that the Duchess of Sussex is “very much somebody who likes to center stage.”

The broadcaster added that Markle “just wants to do things that she wants to do.” However, Chard stated that “life as a working royal isn’t all sparkly.” Grant Harrold, who recently released his book “The Royal Butler,” also recalled an incident while recently talking to Page Six. The former royal butler shared that there was one time when Markle wanted to host some friends for lunch on a day when she was scheduled to carry out a royal engagement.

Harrold stated, “That’s not how it works.” He explained that the royal schedule is set six months in advance and one “can’t change it.” The author also said the duchess thought she could “do her thing,” but they “can’t.” Harrold then suggested the “problem” was that Markle “went into the organization” assuming it would be similar to “Disney princesses.” However, the biographer added that one is “given rules and protocols to follow” when they join the royal family.

Meanwhile, Chard told Fox News that Harry must have discussed the “trials and tribulations of being a princess” with Markle before they got married. The photographer added that the former “Suits” star was still looking for a “fantasy.” However, things changed when she officially became the duchess.
