The VMAs 2025 afterparty was a fashion ensemble, thanks to the stars, especially Sabrina Carpenter. After rocking the event’s red carpet in a see-through gown, the pop icon stunned at the afterparty hosted by her. She showed up in a colorful bodysuit originally made for Cher’s performance with Tina Turner in 1975. Carpenter’s perfect fit proves how her style statement is her first priority at every event.

Sabrina Carpenter stole the spotlight by wearing a Bob Mackie bodysuit at the VMAs 2025 Afterparty. The vintage outfit was originally designed for a legendary pop diva, Cher’s The Cher Show performance with Tina Turner in 1975. The black body suit was layered with blue and pink fringes, adding a colorful touch. Carpenter’s mascara on her lower lashes, old school curls, towering sandals felt like a cherry on top.
As per Bob Mackie’s Instagram post, the 26-year-old wore “The Swamp Dress” from his 1986 Spring collection. He described the look as a “fully embellished cocktail dress is multicolor sequin and navy bugle beaded on black silk with an asymmetric fringe hem.”
Carpenter proved to be a fashion diva throughout the award function. For the red carpet, she donned a cherry red Valentino gown designed by Alessandro Michele. The lacy dress had a sequin embroidery with a lavender feather boa, adding a touch of elegance. She paired this with matching heels, earrings, and a diamond ring from Tiffany & Co.
While taking the Best Album Award, she wore a black gown with a rainbow sequence. Carpenter kept her fashion game on point for her performance, changing to a silver bra, black micro shorts over see-through shiny black tights, and heels. This outfit seemed a nod to Britney Spears’s Bob Mackie diamonds burlesque set that she wore on her 2001 Dream Within a Dream Tour.
The VMAs 2025 was a big night for Carpenter, who secured a total of eight nominations. Out of this, she went on to bag three trophies. These were Best Album, Best Pop Artist, and Best Visual Effect.
