A beloved Haagen-Dazs item is facing a recall due to the packaging not including wheat on a list of allergens. The affected product is a 6-count box of Haagan-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars. Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream has voluntarily recalled the item after discovering the packaging issue. While this recall only impacts a limited number of the mini-bars, the product was shipped to Kroger and Giant Eagle stores in over 30 states.

The batch code for the recalled Haagen-Dazs Chocolate Dark Chocolate Mini Bars is LLA519501 and has a Best By date of January 31, 2027, as noted by the official FDA report issued on Tuesday, November 4.
The batch code can be found beneath the Best By date labelled “Best By 31 JAN 2027.” The barcode number or UPC code for the product is 0 74570 30605 3.
The product was distributed to 29 states for Kroger and 5 states for Giant Eagle. The full list of states can be found in the report.
While the company does not report any illnesses or injuries due to the product, its investigation is ongoing. Dreyer believes that the items were repacked in incorrect packaging during the beginning of a production run.
Consumers who have purchased the affected product and have a wheat allergy or sensitivity are urged not to eat the product and to dispose of it or ask for a full refund at their place of purchase.
The last major recall for Haagan-Dazs ice cream was in 2022 for containing a dangerous chemical called 2-Chloroethanol, which is a byproduct of ethylene oxide. Both chemicals are toxic and led to recalls in multiple countries including France, Indonesia, Ireland, Belgium, and New Zealand.
Other food recalls issued this past week include a ready-to-eat pasta recall due to a listeria outbreak that has lead to at least six deaths and an update to a cinnamon recall list over lead contamination.
