The former Maroon 5 bassist Mickey Madden’s wife, Catherine Blair Bowman, has filed for a domestic violence restraining order. She alleges that Madden physically assaulted her after she confronted him about alleged s–ting with underage girls.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles on July 30, Bowman stated she was “terrified” of Madden and detailed disturbing allegations. This includes multiple instances of abuse and troubling messages involving teenage girls.
In her statement, Bowman claimed the confrontation on July 21 was sparked by a message she received from one of the girls, who alerted her to Madden’s sexting. She shared that after confronting him and trying to take his phone, Madden became violent. (via PEOPLE)
The filing stated, “He put both his arms around my body around my abdomen and arms to restrain me. He then slammed my body against the marble kitchen counter.” Bowman was left shaken by Madden’s rage, describing him as “literally insane.”
Additional claims in the documents allege a prior incident of physical abuse on May 14. Bowman stated, “He physically abused me. Extreme emotional harm. I’m now terrified of him.” The filing states that Madden allegedly “withheld” intimacy after Bowman expressed a desire to have a child. She further accused him of engaging with a “prostitute” and claimed to have seen messages containing graphic sexual content, including rape fantasies.
Bowman submitted text exchanges and Cash App transactions as evidence, alleging Madden was paying the girls for sexual content and acts. A judge has issued a temporary restraining order ahead of a court hearing scheduled for August 20. The order also extends protections to the couple’s two dogs, Toast and Jam. Meanwhile, Madden is currently in a rehabilitation facility focused on sex addiction.
Madden stepped away from Maroon 5 in 2020 following a domestic violence allegation.
