Ahead of David Corenswet‘s upcoming movie Superman release, fans have come across his full-frontal nude scenes from the 2018 indie movie Affairs of State. According to Shutter Scoop, the movie unveils Corenswet as “confident” and “exposed” as he bares it all for the camera.
Now, the resurgence of the images from the movie has reportedly created a problem for Warner Bros. Pictures. The studio is looking for some “damage control,” as they wanted a “family-friendly” Superman.
The report also quoted an insider close to the studio who said, “They’re in full panic mode.” The source added, “They signed up for Clark Kent, not late-night Cinemax.” Commenting on the issue, the insider stated, “They want David to be a family-friendly Superman. This clip makes that complicated.”
Corenswet has not officially responded to his old movie clips resurfacing. However, sources close to The Politician star claimed that the actor “stands by” the film. One insider said, “It’s part of his body of work,” and added, “And clearly, it’s left an impression.”
Meanwhile, Corenswet’s highly anticipated film Superman will hit theaters on July 11. The movie marks the beginning of the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Alongside Corenswet, the cast includes Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced.
In other news, fans are also buzzing about how David Corenswet manifested his Superman role. In a 2019 interview, the actor called Superman his “dream role.” He said, “My pie-in-the-sky ambition is definitely to play Superman. I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman].”
He also shared that, in contrast to Henry Cavill’s “dark and gritty” portrayal, he hoped to see something “very bright and optimistic” for the franchise. Now, in 2025, Corenswet is set to bring that exact vision to life on the big screen.
