Brooke Shields’ Interview Calling Out Meghan Markle Has Been Deleted

A podcast interview featuring Brooke Shields criticizing Meghan Markle has been deleted. The deletion occurred one week after the interview was posted online. In the interview, Shields scrutinized particular stories told by Markle at a South by Southwest (SXSW) panel the two were featured on. This panel also featured journalist Katie Couric and sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen.

So, what happened in the deleted podcast interview with Brooke Shields? Here’s all you need to know.

Brooke Shields’ podcast interview featuring her criticism of Meghan Markle removed

Brooke Shields had appeared for a podcast interview with India Hicks, King Charles’ goddaughter. Hicks uploaded the interview on her substack, INDIA HICKS An Unexpected Journey, earlier this month. However, it is no longer available for viewing. If fans try accessing the interview page, they will be redirected to a message that says “Page not found.”

In the deleted interview, Shields reflected on the time she and Meghan Markle attended a SXSW panel together. The panel, titled “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen,” took place on March 2024. Katie Couric and Nancy Wang Yuen joined Shields and Markle in this panel. The four discussed various topics pertaining to women’s representation in media and entertainment.

Shields recalled Markle, in response to a question asked by Couric, telling the panel how she had been “advocating for women” since she was young.

“She starts telling a story about how when she was 11 – and she keeps saying, ‘Well, when I was 11, I saw this commercial and they were talking about how washing dishes was for women,'” she added.

The Mother of the Bride star then remembered Markle saying, “I didn’t think only women wash dishes. It wasn’t fair. So I wrote to the company.” Shields shared how Markle continuously highlighted acts she did when she was 11 years old. The former viewed the latter’s stories as “too precious.”

“And I was like, they’re not going to want to sit here for 45 minutes and listen to anybody be precious or serious,” the actress added. Shields said that she interrupted Markle to bring some humor to the panel. The 60-year-old actress joked about how she and the Suits alum were different to the audience. Shields shared how she played “a prostitute” when she was 11 years old — a reference to the actress’ leading role in Louis Malle’s Pretty Baby.
