Nicole Kidman garnered widespread attention for her deftly styled haircut at the Met Gala 2025. The stylist not only cut her hair short but also added two color tones that blended neatly. The annual glamorous event saw many high-profile attendees like Zendaya and Rihanna sporting unique looks. The central theme of this year’s Met Gala was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Meanwhile, the organizers set the theme’s accompanying dress code as “Tailored For You.”
Here is Kidman’s Met Gala haircut explored.
Nicole Kidman debuts new haircut at Met Gala
The Babygirl actress arrived at the Met Gala 2025 rocking a brand new haircut — a pixie cut, wherein the majority was smoothly slicked back. The stylist fashioned a considerable portion of the hair into a cropped side-part bob that covered part of her forehead. The actress’ hair color was also a neat blend between her regular blonde and black.
Kidman’s stylist Adir Abergel recently shared a series of photos on Instagram, explaining the inspiration behind the The Perfect Couple star’s haircut, which they called “The Superfine tailored short cut.”
Abergel shared that the haircut “brought out the essence of Dandyism on Nicole Kidman.”
Moreover, the hairstylist also explained their desire to celebrate Met Gala 2025’s theme by “honoring the Dandies and their individuality, elegance, and confidence,” wherein “every detail” was “tailored to that unique person.”
As for her attire, Kidman donned a black strapless Balenciaga gown. She completed the look with black gloves and black pointed-toe pumps. Her accessories included earrings, a bangle, a ring from Cindy Chao’s Art Jewel White Label collection, and a 1969 Ladymatic “Saphette” timepiece from Omega — where she serves as brand ambassador.
Kidman spoke of her fascination for Balenciaga in a recent Vogue interview. She noted how it had “developed and evolved in such a specific way over the years.”
The actress then explained that outgoing creative director Demna inspired her with his sketch of her dress, noting that he took a “beautiful piece from the house’s past” and modernized it in a way that felt unique to her.
