Even though the firsy “Wolfcop” flick has yet to hit theatres (it will on June 6th), it’s already been announced that there will be a sequel and production is slated to begin this fall.
Made in Saskatchewan, the horror comedy “Wolfcop,” which won the CineCoup Film Accelerator contest and the accompanying $1 million prize, is written and directed by Lowell Dean.
The premise of “Wolfcop”: It’s not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou Garou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a strange turn. Crime scenes seem oddly familiar. Lou’s senses are heightened, and when the full moon is out, he’s a rage-fueled werewolf. “Wolfcop” is one cop’s quest to become a better man… one transformation at a time.
“We can’t divulge much about the storyline at this point, only that it will be dirtier and harrier than the first one,” CineCoup president Brad Pelman said about the sequel in a news release (CBC News).
