Jason Momoa and John Cena could return in Man of Tomorrow’s Cast
Nexus Point News reports that Jason Momoa may reprise his role as Lobo and John Cena may return as Peacemaker. Production will begin in June 2026, with James Gunn writing, directing, and producing alongside Peter Safran. The movie will release on July 9, 2027.
Gunn confirmed that David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult will return as Superman and Lex Luthor, serving as co-leads. Although Lex remains an antagonist, reports suggest he could team up with Superman to face a larger threat. Rumors point to Brainiac or the Authority as possible adversaries, requiring the heroes to form a team. This storyline could explain the inclusion of characters like Peacemaker, Supergirl, and Lobo.
Cena’s Peacemaker has stayed active in the DCU through his HBO Max series. The show is continuing storylines first introduced in Superman (2025). If he joins Man of Tomorrow, it will be his first feature film role in Gunn’s DC era since The Suicide Squad (2021). Momoa’s rumored return as Lobo follows speculation about his future in the DCU.
