Rumor: Vision Series Cast Adds Human Version of Another MCU AI

A new report claims Emily Hampshire will join the MCU as the human version of Spider-Man’s E.D.I.T.H. system in Vision Quest. The update follows recent casting developments for the Disney+ series and hints at a larger storyline involving humanoid forms of familiar AIs. While E.D.I.T.H. debuted as Tony Stark’s voice-activated tech, this will mark the character’s first live-action appearance in human form.

Emily Hampshire to replace Dawn Michelle King’s EDITH in Vision series

According to insider Daniel Richtman, Schitt’s Creek star Emily Hampshire has joined the Vision Quest series as the physical representation of Tony Stark’s AI system, first introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Originally voiced by Dawn Michelle King in the 2019 film, E.D.I.T.H. (Even Dead, I’m The Hero) is an augmented reality defense and intelligence system housed in Stark’s signature sunglasses. The system gave users access to Stark Industries’ global satellites and drone weaponry. Peter Parker inherited the glasses in Far From Home, but the Department of Damage Control later confiscated them following the events of No Way Home.

Hampshire previously worked with Vision Quest showrunner Terry Matalas on 12 Monkeys. Her casting follows recent announcements, including T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, James Spader returning as Ultron and Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision. The series continues Vision’s storyline from WandaVision, focusing on the character’s White Vision form, last seen departing to discover his identity.

Vision Quest will feature several MCU AI systems in new human or humanoid forms. Rumors suggest Marvel plans to include J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y. alongside E.D.I.T.H. and Jocasta. It remains unknown whether Hampshire’s role will involve a digital, holographic, or synthezoid form like Vision. Marvel has not confirmed if King will continue voicing E.D.I.T.H. or if Hampshire fully replaces her.

The series is part of the MCU’s Phase 6 and is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. Additional cast members include Ruaridh Mollica and returning MCU characters such as Faran Tahir’s Raza. Vision Quest follows the 2024 series Agatha All Along as a direct sequel to WandaVision.
