The Carolina Panthers statistically had the worst defense in the NFL last year, so every single draft expert picking a stud defensive player with the 8th overall pick. But Panthers’ General Manager Dan Morgan and head coach Dave Canales decided to give their young quarterback, Bryce Young, another weapon in the form of Arizona’s 6’4″, 219-pound wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan …. much to the dismay of Dallas Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons.

During the Bleacher Report live broadcast, Parsons was so upset he buried his face in his hands. “That was supposed to be our pick!” Parsons yelled. “He was supposed to be opposite of CeeDee Lamb!”

At the end of the day, the Carolina Panthers braintrust didn’t overthink the pick. “The guy’s a baller,” Dave Canales said during the team’s first-round press conference. “There’s a simple way to look at it when you watch film. The ballers show up, they make plays in big moments and they’re always looking to do something special.”

According to The Athletic’s Joe Person, McMillan said Bryce Young “(stood) on the table” for him during the draft process and now he’s ready to get to work. “I give credit to Bryce for vouching for me,” McMillan said of his fellow California native.
