Justin Baldoni’s lawyer has dismissed the claims made by Blake Lively about his team leaking details about her deposition. The filmmaker’s lawyer has reportedly filed a response to the opposite party’s accusation with the New York judge, stating that Lively lacked evidence. Earlier, the “Gossip Girl” alum’s team accused Baldoni’s team of leaking deposition details. The closed-door affair took place on July 31 at Lively’s attorney’s office.
Justin Baldoni’s lawyer argued leaks could’ve happened from Blake Lively’s side
Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s legal battle keeps escalating. At the end of last month, the 37-year-old’s deposition, which was supposed to be confidential, grabbed attention. The details about the same seemingly got leaked, which included the names of attendees from Lively’s side. Her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and her sister, Robyn, were brought up in several reports.
Following that, Lively’s attorney wrote a letter to the New York judge, blaming Baldoni’s team for leaking deposition details. On August 6, the “Jane the Virgin” actor’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, legally responded to the claims, mentioning that Lively’s team has no evidence against them.
According to Us Weekly, Freedman’s letter read, “This is not surprising as there is none. [Lively] also fails to explain why any such ‘leak’ could not have originated from [her side].” He further highlighted that sharing information about who accompanied Lively to the deposition was “not newsworthy.”
Freedman also highlighted that “all parties are entitled to attend all depositions.” Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Lively told the outlet that they were “very pleased with the outcome” of her sworn statement. “[They] look forward to deposing Justin Baldoni and each of the codefendants in short order,” they added.
Earlier, a report stated that the leak might be Lively’s doing. A former publicist claimed that she has always been good at “planting stories.” “Now she’s playing victim? Please,” the source remarked. They blamed her and her husband for controlling “the narrative.”
