Taylor Swift has reportedly been granted an extension of the restraining order against her alleged stalker. The man, who hails from Colorado, sent hundreds of emails and showed up at Swift’s door multiple times. Following months of increasingly alarming behavior, fresh reports claimed that a L.A. judge extended the temporary restraining order until July 21.
Taylor Swift’s alleged request to reschedule court hearing accepted
Taylor Swift’s stalker’s restraining order was recently extended until July 21. Jason Brian Wagner, the alleged stalker from Colorado, had been intrusively visiting the singer’s Los Angeles home several times. He also sent Swift hundreds of disturbing emails. The pop star finally filed for emergency protection in June, telling the court she was in “fear of imminent harm” from Wagner.
As per the Daily Mail, a L.A. judge has now extended the restraining order against Wagner because Swift wants “more time to have the restrained party personally served.” In detailing the history of harassment, court documents revealed Wagner’s misconduct dated back to July 9, 2024. The Daily Mail disclosed that the stalker paid at least three unwanted visits to Swift’s home at that time. He asked to see Swift “personally” and pretended to have a personal relationship with her, claiming that the singer was the mother of his child.
Swift filed Wagner’s actions as “concerning and threatening.” A supplemental court declaration filed by Alex Welch on June 27 included around 500 pages of emails, photos, and screenshots allegedly from Wagner. Welch, a member of Swift’s security detail, wrote, “If the Court requires an unredacted version of any document in order to rule on the permanent restraining order, Ms. Swift’s counsel will provide the documents for in camera review.’
The alleged stalker addressed Taylor Swift as his “wife,” leading the court’s order asking him to stay at least 100 yards away from the musician, her home, car, and workplace. His hearing was initially set for June 30, but was rescheduled at Swift’s request for more time to serve Wagner. The expiration of the temporary order was thus pushed to July 21.
