Prince William allegedly called the shots to exclude Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s kids from the monarchy. The Times recently reported that it’s “unlikely” the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would have any royal roles and duties under the next reign. Now, multiple insiders claimed that the Prince of Wales made the decision unilaterally despite Kate Middleton’s concerns and without looping in his brother or the Palace.
Prince William is ‘shaping the monarchy’ his way, claims ‘sources’
Rob Shuter exclusively learned that Prince William doesn’t want to have “lingering ties” to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their kids. A senior royal aide claimed that the decision to exclude Harry and Markle’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from the monarchy was entirely the Prince of Wales’ decision. “This was 100% William’s call,” they claimed, adding that the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, even “expressed concern, especially for the children.”
William seemingly didn’t “budge” and stood firm in his decision. In fact, he believes that drawing boundaries is “the only way to protect the crown” during his regime. A source further alleged that once he takes over the reins as king, his niece and nephew “won’t have roles, titles, or royal responsibilities.” Moreover, he “doesn’t want any lingering ties to the Sussexes,” after they stepped down as senior royals in 2020.
According to one insider, Prince William’s leaving out Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s kids from royal roles, titles, and duties was never about “fairness.” They believe it has been “about control” and his determination to shape “the monarchy his way,” which would mean “no Hollywood royals” and “no second chances.” Another royal insider pointed out that the next reign would be “William’s monarchy” and that Archie and Lilibet won’t be a part of it.
The Times recently learned that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s two children likely won’t have roles as working royals.
