Eight years after Pretty Little Liars concluded its run on the small screen, Troian Bellisario, who played Spencer Hastings in the long-running series, has disclosed that Sydney Sweeney briefly appeared in the series finale. In a recent social media update, the Suits alum noted that prior to becoming a household name, Sweeney had, in fact, made a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in the teen mystery drama.
Pretty Little Liars call sheet reveals Sydney Sweeney was in the Season 7 finale
On September 4, Bellisario took to her Instagram stories to share a call sheet for Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 20, which served as the final episode for the fan-favorite show. The document not only contained the names of actors taking part in the episode but also the characters that they’re playing. Notably, the Pretty Little Liars sheet also mentioned a pre-fame Sydney Sweeney, who was just 19 years old at the time.
“How fun is this? Cleaning my old dive coat from @prettylittleliars and found a call sheet from the finale,” Bellisario wrote in one story. She then posted an accompanying video where she emphasized Sweeney’s name on the sheet, stating, “Um, even funnier is who else I noticed is also on this call sheet. Do you notice any other names that might have gone on to other things?”
The Pretty Little Liars Season 7 finale, titled “Till Death Do Us Part,” saw a group of girls, namely Hadley, Queen Bee Addison, and Willa, recreate the events of the series’ pilot episode. Just like Lucy Hale’s Aria finds out that Sasha Pieterse’s Alison and Bellisario’s Spencer are missing during a sleepover, Hadley notices that both her friends are nowhere to be found after waking up. Sydney Sweeney portrays Willa in this scene. The White Lotus star even utters the show’s final line, saying, “I’ve looked everywhere for her, I think I heard her scream,” before the screen cuts to black.
