Harry Potter TV series child actors reportedly getting $600K salary

Harry Potter TV series’ child actors will reportedly earn a whopping salary of $600K for the first season of the HBO show. An insider revealed to The Sun, “This is a whopping payday for three kids who haven’t even hit their teenage years yet — and it’s just the beginning. They’re being paid £500,000 for the first series. If they keep this up, they’re on track to be multi-millionaires before they turn 18.”

McLaughlin, Stout, and Stanton reportedly beat more than 32,000 children to land the iconic roles that catapulted Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson to superstardom twenty-five years ago. The source justified the production’s decision to pay these children, as they have already become household names.

The insider explained, “It’s a lot of money for young kids to be handed overnight, but they’re about to become three of the most famous children in the world. Similarly to when Daniel, Emma, and Rupert were cast, their lives are going to change forever.”

Notably, the first trailer for HBO Max’s Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone dropped on March 25 ahead of the service launching in the UK. Although the trailer received mixed reactions from fans, it certainly surpassed all viewership records. As per The Hollywood Reporter, it has surpassed 277 million organic views in 48 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in HBO history.

The official logline of the trailer states, “There is nothing special about Harry Potter — at least that’s what his Aunt Petunia (Bel Powley) always says. On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world for Harry: one of fun, friendship, and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk, as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past.”
