Welcome to Plathville star Micah Plath is stepping into a new chapter. After his breakup with Veronica, things seem to have changed. Now, he’s talking about moving on from his ex, and there’s someone new in his life.
Micah Plath says he has a new girlfriend
In the Season 8 premiere that aired on March 31, Micah, 24, shared an update about his life after the breakup (via PEOPLE). Fans saw his relationship with Veronica Peters fall apart in the Season 7 finale.
He said he was heading back to Georgia to see his family. “I’m coming up here to see all my family — I haven’t seen ’em in a while. I’m also coming to take a whole bunch of my stuff back down to Florida, because I finally have my own place.”
Micah admitted the breakup pushed him to change. He said, “After I broke up with Veronica, I knew I needed to make a change. I met a pretty incredible girl and we are doing great and we are happy.”
Still, he’s keeping things quiet. Micah explained they are taking it slow, trying to process everything from the past few years. “We’re keeping things somewhat private. Kind of evaluating everything that’s happened over the last couple years. I don’t think I was on the path for what I wanted, and I’m going to switch things up a little bit and just chase a peaceful life.”
But the past still lingers. At the start of the episode, the family reflected on the explosive fight at Lydia and Zac’s wedding. It escalated fast when Veronica’s comments only made things worse leading to Isaac Plath even hitting Micah.
Meanwhile, the family didn’t fully support Lydia and Zac getting married so quickly. Then came accusations that Veronica claimed Micah had cheated multiple times. That only added fuel to the fire.
Things escalated when Veronica had issues at the wedding and left early, later learning about the fight. When the family talked, Micah made his choice. He walked away and ended it. Now, things feel calmer, not perfect, but better, and that appears to be enough for him.
TLC airs Welcome to Plathville every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET.
