And now the star recently celebrated the much-awaited Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special, but it seems the celebration did not quite hit the mark with her ardent fans, as some found it “kinda awkward and mostly random.”

Miley Cyrus recently celebrated 20 years of her hit show, Hannah Montana, with a Disney+ special on Tuesday, March 24. The show ran for four seasons between 2006 and 2011 and showed the journey of Miley Stewart, a teenage girl who lived a dual life – an ordinary school-going girl by day and a famous pop star, named Hannah Montana, by night. She disguised her look with her blonde wig and sequined clothing to protect her true identity.
And now, after 20 years, the singer wanted to give something back to her fans with her special, which included a sit-down interview with “Call Her Daddy” podcaster Alex Cooper, a few surprise cameos by Selena Gomez and Chappell Roan, and a reimagining of the iconic set of the show. But it seems the show did not quite hit the mark with fans.
While replying about the special on Reddit, fans expressed their disappointment, with one saying it felt “rushed.” Even another fan shared the same thoughts, expressing, “When she sang it was great, but the rest was boring, kinda awkward and mostly random. No other cast members except Billy Ray but somehow… Chappell Roan? Alex Cooper interviewing? I thought the Friends reunion was bad but this was way worse haha.”
However, some said that they did enjoy the show but were not very happy with Copper hosting the show and Roan making a guest appearance. Moreover, they felt the conversation with Gomez “was so surface level and quick” and wished other cast and people like Emily, Jason, and Jonas Brothers were also present on the show.
