Chappell Roan has addressed a viral incident involving her security team and the daughter of Jude Law, after claims surfaced that the young fan was left in tears during a hotel encounter.
Chappell Roan apologizes after claims that her security left Jude Law’s daughter crying
The situation kicked off after Jorginho shared his side of the story online. He said his 11-year-old step-daughter, Ada Law, was staying at the same hotel and got excited when she spotted Chappell Roan. The girl walked past her table just to check if it was really her, without stopping or saying anything.
According to Jorginho, things took a turn soon after. He claimed a security guard approached them and spoke to them in a harsh, confrontational manner. The guard allegedly accused the child of harassment. Jorginho said the moment upset his daughter badly. She ended up shaken and in tears after the interaction. For context, Ada Law is the daughter of Jude Law and his former partner, Catherine Harding. The latter is now married to Jorginho.
Roan responded soon after, sharing her side of the story in a video. She explained that she was unaware of the situation at the time. “I didn’t even see a woman and a child,” she said, adding that no one approached her during breakfast. Roan also stressed that she did not instruct her security to confront anyone. The singer acknowledged that the situation should not have happened the way it did. “It’s unfair for security to just assume someone doesn’t have good intentions,” she said.
Roan also issued a direct apology to the family. “I do not hate children — that is crazy,” she said. “I’m sorry to the mother and child… you did not deserve that.” The incident comes at a time when Roan has been openly discussing boundaries with fans and media. She has previously called out invasive behavior by paparazzi and overenthusiastic crowds, especially during her rapid rise following the release of her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
