Scrubs’ Zach Braff Reveals the Hilarious Thing Morgan Freeman Did for Him After a Lost Bet

Morgan Freeman once did something pretty funny for Scrubs star Zach Braff. It started with a simple bet and just two actors joking around on set. However, when the former lost, the latter had a request. A strange but hilarious one.

Zack Braff recently appeared on The View and shared the story. It happened years ago when he and Morgan Freeman were working together. They had a little friendly competition going on, just for fun, which turned into a hilarious story for the Scrubs actor.

Freeman lost the bet, and Braff didn’t waste the moment. “Morgan lost a bet to me, and for years, he was my outgoing voicemail message,” he said. For a long time, anyone who called Braff heard Freeman’s legendary voice on the other end.

Braff even demonstrated it during the interview. “For years, my message was, ‘Hello, this is Morgan Freeman. Zach Braff can’t come to the phone right now.’” Braff said, jokingly mimicking Freeman’s famous deep tone.

During the same interview, Braff also talked about working with Harrison Ford in the Shrinking series on Apple TV+. “He’s just a lovely man, Harrison,” Braff said. “He’s gruff. Very gruff. But once you get past that, we have a good time together.”

Braff stated that working with legends isn’t complicated. He mentioned that he treats them just like normal people. “They’re so used to people being weird around them,” the sitcom star explained.

Braff previously worked with Freeman on the film Going in Style. The two reunited again for Braff’s 2023 movie, A Good Person. Meanwhile, the former also worked with Harrison Ford on the Apple TV+ series Shrinking, with its Season 3 currently airing on Apple TV+. He also recently returned to his role in the Scrubs revival, with season 10, which premiered on Feb. 25.
