Sources cited in reports claim ex-Prince Andrew has grown “increasingly anxious” about the legal costs connected to the investigation. The former royal was reportedly questioned by detectives for around 11 hours before being released while inquiries continue. According to insiders, the uncertainty about future interviews and legal proceedings has added to his concerns.
A royal source told Mirror UK that the financial side of the case is weighing heavily on Andrew. “The financial burden on him, having to attend interviews and take the relevant advice are a huge concern for him and one which he is growing increasingly anxious about,” the source said. The same insider claimed King Charles has made his position clear, saying, “The King has made clear that Andrew is now a private citizen and must meet the relevant costs on his own,” the source added.
However, reports suggest the situation could become complicated. Some insiders believe the King may face pressure to help Andrew if he cannot afford the legal bills. One source said Charles could find himself in an “uncomfortable position” if Andrew asks him to step in and pay for the fees privately.
At the same time, palace insiders say the King does not want public money used in the case.
