Meghan Markle is now ready to take “complete control” of her brand, As Ever, after Netflix ended its partnership with the brand. The streaming service invested in the 44-year-old’s lifestyle brand when it was launched a year ago.
While the news comes as a shocker for Markle’s fans, she is far from disappointed. Sources say that she is quite “relieved” after the streaming platform cut ties with her brand. She can now fully control her business. Plus, she believed that her brand was being “held back” by the streaming giant, which could have potentially affected her business.
Meghan Markle felt As Ever was being ‘held back’ by Netflix, per source
Meghan Markle launched the lifestyle brand, As Ever, on April 2, 2025. The luxury brand offers a curated collection of home goods, including jams, teas, honey, and even scented items. Netflix, with whom Markle has even done a show named “With Love, Meghan,” partnered with her brand when it was launched.
However, the Sun reports that the streaming giant, which invested in the luxury brand, has now cut ties with it. The news comes months after Markle’s show, “With Love, Meghan,” was canceled for its third season.
The Duchess of Sussex is, however, not at all bothered about it. In fact, sources allege that she is “relieved” as she feared that Netflix was being too “cautious” about her brand. Moreover, she felt that her brand was being “held back” by them.
Although the partnership may be over, sources say that she is on “good terms” with Ted Sarandos, the CEO of Netflix. The source added that she is “very happy to have full control of the company.” As per the tipster, the brand is doing great and has seen recent successes. This is why it is a great time for her to have “complete control” of her brand.
The source continued, “Netflix have been a good partner, but she’s wanted to go global with the brand for some time, but has been held back by the more cautious Netflix team.”
