Meanwhile, PEOPLE cited a representative for the Los Angeles Police Department, who reported that officers responded to a report of “shots fired” at the residence at around 1:15 p.m. local time. Moreover, the outlet reported that the police recovered a weapon and calmly detained the suspect.
The investigation is now with a specialized unit, with the LAPD representative telling PEOPLE, “This is an active LAPD Robbery Homicide Division investigation.” Meanwhile, police Sgt. Jonathan de Vera, an LAPD spokesperson, told the Los Angeles Times that the suspect fired multiple rounds from inside her vehicle toward Rihanna’s home. Additionally, the outlet reported that a round penetrated a wall of the mansion.
A source familiar with the situation told PEOPLE that Rihanna is “okay.”
Rihanna lives in the Beverly Hills home with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children: sons RZA and Riot, and daughter Rocki, whom the couple welcomed a little more than five months ago.
