Ex-Prince Andrew’s daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, are not worried about their father’s arrest but are reportedly anxious about their future. A source told Us Weekly, “Eugenie and Beatrice have had to change their upcoming public-facing plans and future plans this year.” The insider continued, “They aren’t as worried about Andrew being arrested and going to jail.” However, the York sisters are still “horrified” with their father’s involvement in the scandal and “worry there could be more to come.”
A second source stated the royal siblings won’t attend many public engagements soon, adding, “It’s devastating for them and in London it’s all people are talking about.” The insider further shared, “They are not actually planning on doing any public events in the near future.” This is because of the controversies surrounding their parents, which they speculate “will be the focus.” However, the source told the outlet that the princesses were not “banned” from the Royal Ascot in June.
Beatrice and Eugenie were not going to be present at the event as “they were not planning on attending” because of travel and other commitments. Subsequently, the source dismissed claims that the York sisters had been excluded from their extended family. “The royal family has not distanced themselves from the girls. [Prince] William and [Princess] Kate [Middleton] are close with them,” the insider stated. The individual added Eugenie and Beatrice “have been through enough,” and “they are not being blamed. There is a lot of compassion.”
The source continued, “They are not pariahs. They are cared for and loved under the circumstances which are incredibly painful.” The royals reportedly “have compassion” for the sisters amid their parents’ controversies. “The only feelings that have changed are toward Andrew and Fergie. They don’t hold Beatrice and Eugenie accountable,” the insider concluded.
