Here’s the new Donald Trump approval ratings

According to a new poll, the two-time President’s approval ratings have gone down further after he started a war against Iran.

The poll by The Economist/ YouGov, conducted between February 27 and March 2, 2026, found that Donald Trump’s rating is at its lowest in his second term. Out of 1,515 participants, only 38 percent are happy with his work during his second term. On the other hand, 59 percent of respondents are not satisfied with Trump’s performance.

The poll is also the highest of the POTUS’ second term, and the lowest rating he has had since November 2017. Moreover, 51 percent of respondents are strongly unhappy with his job performance, the highest share since he took office. Among independents, 69 percent disapproved of the 79-year-old’s performance, with his total net approval among the demographic being -12.

The drastic change may result from ongoing situations during Trump’s second term. From the ICE situation to the release of the Epstein Files, many critics have voiced their opinions against the businessman-turned-politician.

Additionally, after Donald Trump announced that the United States and Israel had started a war against Iran, the approval ratings seemed to have taken a major hit. A previous poll suggested that 55 percent of Republicans were in support of Trump’s strike on Iran, whereas 13 percent of respondents opposed his decision.

According to PBS, announcing the United States’ attack on Iran with Israel, Trump said, “The United States military is undertaking a massive and ongoing operation to prevent this very wicked, radical dictatorship from threatening America and our core national security interests.”
