Val Chmerkovskiy, the professional dancer who is a part of the Dancing with the Stars live tour, was suddenly hospitalized. In a new video from his official Instagram account, Chmerkovskiy revealed what had actually happened to him.

“What up, my beautiful people?” he began in the video that he shot from his hospital bed, “So, I got BPPV, which isn’t too bad, thank God.” He added, “There’s no tumor in my brain, God forbid. And thankfully, it’s not related to my neck injury.”

The 39-year-old pro dancer continued, “So, having ruled those things out, I feel a lot better.” He added that he expected to be back on the show shortly. “I’m back in the show tonight.”

The dancer was admitted to the hospital on March 1, 2026.

BBPV is one of the leading causes of vertigo. BBPV, or Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, is a common inner ear disorder that causes an intense sensation of spinning. But the Mayo Clinic claims it is not very serious. “Although BPPV can be a bother, it’s rarely serious. But it can raise the chance of falling. A healthcare professional can treat BPPV during an office visit,” the site reads.

Val will be back on the show very soon. “I’m still a little fuzzy here and there, but good enough to perform,” he added in the video, “And I’ll see you all tonight.”

He wrote in the video’s caption, “appreciate all the love and concern.” Fans can expect to see the dancer take the floor very soon.
