Ex-Prince Andrew Still in Line of Succession Is ‘Ridiculous’ — Expert

Ex-Prince Andrew’s line of succession has lately been making headlines after his shocking arrest. According to an expert, keeping the ex-Duke of York eighth in line to the throne is said to be “ridiculous.” As per the report, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who has been stripped of royal titles and duties, would’t be fit to be the king. The former royal was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Moreover, his downfall within the monarchy has been the subject of discussion for some time.

Ex-Prince Andrew and daughters should be removed from line of succession, says expert

Ex-Prince Andrew and his daughters still hold their ranks in the royal line of succession. After the former duke, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, along with their children, have been positioned in the succession order. Although the 66-year-old lost his titles, King Charles didn’t take away his nieces’ titles.

Recently, royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror that Andrew and his daughters should be removed from the line of succession to the throne. According to her, the father of two was “certainly not fit to be King” when he couldn’t hold on to the prince title.

Furthermore, she highlighted that non-working royals and their kids should reportedly face the same result. Here, the former BBC royal correspondent seemingly hinted at Beatrice, Eugenie, and Prince Harry, including their children.

“I think to have William and his children followed by Anne (bumping her up the order) and Edward is more than enough. So I would propose a complete shake up of the succession order,” the expert added. Moreover, she claimed that “this long line of succession has become rather ridiculous.”

Earlier, a report suggested that Andrew might make a bold move and remove himself from the succession order. Reportedly, he would make such a decision to lower his infamy following the arrest incident.
