Matthew McConaughey’s Prank for Timothee Chalamet Included ‘Huge Turd’

Matthew McConaughey and Timothée Chalamet sat down for a new interview for a town hall produced by Variety and CNN, where the actors went over a variety of subjects. This included one particular prank that left the Marty Supreme star shocked. Speaking about the time they were working together on Interstellar, Chalamet recalled what the Dallas Buyers Club actor did to him on the last day of the set.

Timothée Chalamet worked with Matthew McConaughey in Interstellar, which the actor also claims was one of his favorite projects to date. Chalamet, who is much younger than McConaughey, received a stinky surprise on the last day of his work on the film.

“I gotta say, my last day on Interstellar, I was sad to be leaving,” Chalamet recalled during the session produced by Variety and CNN, “In my trailer, I went to the bathroom, and there was a huge turd in my toilet. I felt so disrespected. Like, ‘I know I’m not the star of this movie, but who’s coming in here?’”

“So I went around to all the grips, these big guys, and I said, ‘Hey, one of you let it loose in my trailer.’ They said no. I went up to Nolan, and he pointed to Matthew, and Matthew had this devilish grin on his face,” the actor recalled, “I said, ‘Why’d you do that?’ You said, ‘In Texas, it’s a coming of age, baby.'”

McConaughey weighed in, saying, “Souvenir.” Chalamet asserted, “That’s a true story.”

The actors continued discussing Interstellar for a while, and Chalamet noted that Christopher Nolan was his favorite director. “‘The Dark Knight’ made me want to act. ‘Inception’ inspired me. When I read the script to ‘Interstellar,’ I thought it was gonna change the world,” the actor said during the session.

Timothée Chalamet is competing for the Best Actor category in this year’s Oscars.
