Barack Obama‘s nonprofit foundation page took to social media to reveal the former president’s favorite Bad Bunny songs over the years. Alongside a video showcasing his preferred tracks from the six-time Grammy-winning artist, the page shared a brief caption that appeared to subtly shade President Donald Trump. The jab comes in light of Trump’s consistent doubts over Obama’s citizenship status in the past.

The Obama Foundation took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the former president’s favorite Bad Bunny songs that appeared in his playlist throughout the years. This post comes in light of the Puerto Rican singer making headlines for Super Bowl 60. The video showcased the names of his favorite songs from 2020 to 2024, which included La Deficil, Volvi, Tití Me Preguntó, Ojitos Lindos, and Perro Negro. The caption read, “From one natural-born US citizen to another, have a great Benito Bowl!”
To most, the post appeared to throw subtle shade at President Trump, who in the past kept pushing the birther movement against Obama, consistently questioning his citizenship and presidency. At one point, President Trump also accused Obama of having a fake birth certificate. He wrote on X, “An ‘extremely credible source’ has called my office and told me that @BarackObama’s birth certificate is a fraud. ” In 2016, he finally admitted that Obama is a US citizen. He wrote, “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again.”
At the time, Obama, who was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father, revealed that the campaign should become more focused on other major issues than his citizenship. He said to the reporters at the White House, “I was pretty confident about where I was born. I think most people were as well, and my hope would be that the presidential election reflects more serious issues than that.”
