Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Seemingly Caused Elon Musk’s X to Crash

How Bad Bunny’s show seemingly caused X to crash

Social media application X reportedly went down during Bady Bunny’s acclaimed performance at the halftime show of Super Bowl 2026. According to the Downdetector website on Sunday evening, more than 25,000 users reported that X was down.

This came as soon as Bad Bunny took the stage on Sunday at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Puerto Rican rapper performed in the final between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. The outage impacted people across the US from New York to Los Angeles, per reports from Downdetector.

Many fans reacted to this on X, with some celebrating Bad Bunny’s performance and Elon Musk’s company failing. Many also complained about the inability to post about Bad Bunny’s performance on X.

Bad Bunny’s inclusion in the Super Bowl halftime show created quite a stir among Donald Trump supporters. The President himself said he would be skipping the Super Bowl this year because of Bad Bunny’s performance.

Despite the MAGA backlash, Bad Bunny has not addressed the controversy during the press conference. “The world is going to be happy this Sunday, (as well as) the whole country,” he said, “There’s a lot of people that love me around the world, not just the Latino people.” He added, “To be on the biggest stage in the world is something that I never thought (possible). You always have to be proud of who you are and feel comfortable being yourself, being proud about your history and where you are from, and don’t let that limit yourself.”

“A lot of people stop me at the street or the airport, Americans in the United States, Mexico, French, and say, ‘I know you’re going to do a great performance at the Super Bowl.’,” he added.
