Comedian Jimmy Kimmel has taken yet another shot at Donald Trump, this time by mocking the recently released documentary centered around his wife and First Lady, Melania Trump. The talk show host shared his two cents on the Oscars buzz surrounding the Amazon movie, jokingly stating that he will do whatever it takes to present the 2027 edition of the awards if Melania ends up securing a nomination in the best documentary category.
Jimmy Kimmel says he will host Oscars once more on one condition
The veteran talk show host reacted to Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany’s assessment of the Melania documentary, wherein the former White House Press Secretary described the film as an Oscar contender.
“Mark my words right now, if Melania gets nominated for an Oscar, I will host that show. Whether they ask me to or not. I will insist on it,” Jimmy Kimmel jibed during the February 2 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, drawing a huge cheer from his audience.
Kimmel had already thrown shade at Fox News for its reaction to the documentary in question. “Melania has a score of 7% on Rotten Tomatoes. But on Fox News, it’s got a strong 100%,” the comedian noted earlier in his monologue. He even dissed the movie’s $7 million box office opening by adding, “It set a record. It was the biggest opening for a non-musical vanity project/brazen corporate bribe in the last 10 years.”
Notably, Kayleigh McEnany had previously lauded the documentary during a live Fox News discussion. She stated, “My mom went to this this weekend in Florida. She said not only was the theater packed, it was standing room only if you were able to sneak into the back of the theater. People were cheering through it, they were excited. It was interactive — people interplaying with the film. She said it was just electric.”
McEnany ended her account by claiming that Melania “should be nominated for Oscars. And if she was to go, she would be the best dressed by a long shot.”
Meanwhile, Jimmy Kimmel has hosted the Oscars four times. Following his hosting stints in 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2024, he was replaced by fellow comedian Conan O’Brien.
