General Hospital stars urge fans to help Feanna Smith in her cancer battle

On Tuesday, February 3, soap opera actors Katelyn MacMullen, Rory Gibson, and Chris McKenna shared a GoFundMe page urging fans to donate and support General Hospital’s hairstylist, Feanna Smith (via Soaps.com).

Smith is a Daytime Emmy-nominated hairstylist and makeup artist who has also worked on projects such as General Hospital, Game of Deceit, and Justice with Judge Mablean. According to the GoFundMe page description, Smith was diagnosed with stage four pulmonary cancer roughly five months ago.

During her initial medical care, her symptoms suggested that she had pneumonia, which later developed into pleurisy. It is a condition that affects the lungs, leading to severe chest pain. Moreover, her lungs had accumulated fluid, and she was hospitalized several times to drain them. Unfortunately, after a series of tests, doctors determined that she has terminal cancer. While they did not provide an official prognosis, Smith is currently undergoing treatment.

The fundraiser also recounted her journey from her early days in Philadelphia to building a career in the entertainment industry in California, emphasizing her passion for the beauty industry. Despite the hardships, she has made her way up and worked with “high-profile celebrities.”

The description concluded, stating, “Today, Feanna approaches life with deep gratitude and perspective. Her primary focus is spending meaningful time with her daughter, who is now an adult and studying to become an airline pilot. Feanna speaks openly about faith, resilience, and the importance of presence, love, and purpose in the face of uncertainty.”

While the page doesn’t specify how the funds will be utilized, the goal is to raise $5,000. At the time of writing, it has raised $1,095 from 18 donations.
