Gabriel Basso, star of Netflix’s hit series, The Night Agent, is making headlines not just for his acting skills but also for his notable absence from social media. Gabriel Basso explains why he deleted his Instagram account

Gabriel Basso has finally opened up about deleting his Instagram account in March 2025.

During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Gabriel Basso shared his humorous take on deleting his Instagram account. He revealed that it was an instantaneous decision after he stumbled upon a photo of the top of Mount Everest while doomscrolling.

He recalled feeling frustrated about the fact that he could easily enjoy the breathtaking view without putting in the effort to climb it. Meanwhile, others have lost their lives trying to do so.

Gabriel Basso was really bothered that he’d seen this iconic view without earning it, almost felt like he’d “stolen” the experience. He even turned to the audience and asked if they didn’t think it was wild.

That is what led him to take the drastic step of deleting his Instagram account. ” I wanted to mind my own business, dude,” he added. “I’m sick of everyone else’s business being my business.”

Gabriel Basso’s decision to delete his Instagram account reflects his growing unease with the entertainment industry, feeling it doesn’t contribute meaningfully to society. He’s been vocal about wanting to do something more impactful, such as obtaining a stonemason’s license and starting a non-profit to better train police officers.

“I don’t feel like a productive part of society. If I build a stone wall — that’s a thing. I’ve served the community. I think there’s more important things that a 30-year-old man can do with his life,” Basso had previously told Variety.

The Night Agent Season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix on February 19, 2026, with 10 thrilling episodes. Peter Sutherland, now a seasoned Night Agent, will face the repercussions of his Season 2 decisions while tackling global conspiracies.
