NFL’s Puka Nacua Jokes He Has ‘Skydiving’ Date With Sydney Sweeney

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has taken a playful public approach with Hollywood actress Sydney Sweeney, which has now escalated to joking about concrete plans. The NFL star recently shared that he has a skydiving reservation with the Euphoria actress this week.

Puka Nacau jokes about Sydney Sweeney date

It all started when Sydney Sweeney detailed her ideal partner in a Cosmopolitan interview while promoting her new lingerie line. “Athletic and outgoing and funny,” Sweeney said. “I’m a sporty girl, so someone needs to be able to climb a mountain with me, go skydiving with me. And someone who loves their family.”

Those specific criteria, especially the mention of skydiving, immediately caught the eye of the Rams’ breakout receiver. Nacua retweeted the viral clip by writing: “Love skydiving.” Now, Nacua took a step further during a media interview. When asked who he would go skydiving with from a list of celebrities, he didn’t hesitate to choose Sydney Sweeney’s name when her name was mentioned.

“Yeah, Sydney Sweeney,” Puka Nacua replied. “I have reservations for us on Wednesday actually.” He then quickly backpedaled, revealing the comment as a joke in a moment of awkward humor. The “date” appears to be purely fictional, especially as the comment came amid reports that Sweeney was recently seen holding hands with music executive Scooter Braun.

The 24-year-old NFL player is believed to be single. He shares a baby boy with his ex-girlfriend, Hallie Aiono, who gave birth in October. Earlier, Aiono had filed a petition to determine that Nacua was the child’s father, though the situation appeared resolved by the time of the birth.

Moreover, Nacua was not the only NFL player to publicly react to Sweeney’s interview. Buffalo Bills running back Ray Davis also shared her comments online, writing, “I can probly add skydiving to my bucket list.”
