Taylor Swift Texts Reportedly Hint at Song Linked to Blake Lively & Justin Baldoni

Taylor Swift‘s song “Cancelled” is being deciphered about Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. The “It Ends With Us” co-stars have been in a legal battle since 2024. Recently, texts between Swift and Lively emerged in unsealed documents. New reports state one of the pop icon’s 2025 album songs was hinting at Lively and Baldoni’s situation.

Taylor Swift’s texts reportedly suggest ‘Cancelled’ linked to Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni

Recent reports have speculated that Taylor Swift was referring to Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in her song “Cancelled” in her alleged texts. In one of the messages, the singer wrote to Lively, “I think this b**** knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.” This text was seemingly referring to the “It Ends with Us” director. Moreover, in the 2025 song, Swift sings, “Did you make a joke only a man could? / Were you just too smug for your own good?” She then continues, “Or bring a tiny violin to a knife fight? Baby, that all ends tonight.”

Another lyric goes, “It’s easy to love you when you’re popular / The optics click, everyone prospers.” She continued, “But one single drop, you’re off the roster / ‘Tone deaf and hot, let’s f***in’ off her.'” As per Us Weekly, Lively was called “tone-deaf” for seldom discussing the themes of domestic violence in the Baldoni directorial. These instances have led many to presume that Swift was likely inspired by the “It Ends with Us” leads’ situation for her song.

In the alleged texts, Swift and Lively were discussing the New York Times article that broke the news of the legal trial. The musician wrote to her friend, “I think this b**** knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin.” This line was presumably refering Baldoni.

In another message, the “Gossip Girl” star allegedly asked for help from the Grammy winner. Lively called Baldoni “the doofus director of my movie,” who is “a clown” but “thinks he’s a writer now.” Meanwhile, Lively’s legal team stated she “respectfully refers the Court to the cited source for its complete contents and disputes any summary or interpretation inconsistent therewith.”
