Danish Politician Tells Donald Trump to ‘F*** Off’

Relations between the United States and its European allies are at a tense point, with a Danish politician making an explosive, expletive-laden message directly to President Donald Trump. It stems from Trump’s intensified campaign to acquire Greenland, a strategic Arctic territory.

Anders Vistisen, a Danish member of the European Parliament, did not hold back during the recent plenary session. Taking the microphone, Vistisen addressed Donald Trump directly in response to the U.S. president’s escalating rhetoric around Greenland. “Let me put this in words you might understand,” Vistisen said. “Mr. President, f*ck off.”

The remarks immediately got a formal rebuke. Nicolae Stefanuta, a fellow member of parliament from Romania, interrupted and cut Vistisen off mid-speech. “I’m sorry, colleague,” Stefanuta said. “This is against our rules… as much as you might feel, or the room might feel in this, we have clear rules about cuss words, language that is inappropriate in this room. I’m sorry to interrupt you, but it is unacceptable, even if you might have strong political feelings about this.”

The exchange is in relation to how emotionally charged the Greenland issue has become, particularly as Trump intensifies his campaign to pressure European governments. However, the Danish politician has made similar remarks before.

During a 2025 session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg—one day after Trump began his second term—Vistisen gave a nearly identical message while addressing the president. “Dear President Trump, listen very carefully. Greenland has been part of the Danish kingdom for 800 years. It’s an integrated part of our country. It is not for sale. Let me put it in words you might understand. Mr. Trump, f*ck off.”

This shows how firmly some European lawmakers oppose any U.S. attempt to acquire Greenland, a territory that remains part of the Danish kingdom. Donald Trump’s Greenland ambition has resulted in the U.S. declaring 10% tariffs on eight European nations, including Denmark and Norway, effective February 1, 2026.
