McDonald’s joins viral Jujutsu Kaisen trend
McDonald’s taps into the viral Jujutsu Kaisen trend sweeping the anime world. Only two episodes in, and fans have already declared it as one of the most viral anime moments of the year. In the two-episode premiere of Season 3, Naoya Zenin, of the Zenin clan and also a new character, fights Choso, highlighting his Projection Sorcery. (via CBR).
However, in true anime style, he fights with an incredible amount of flair and charisma by flaunting a now-memorable hair clip. Anime fans are loving Naoya Zenin’s style and swag and have taken over the internet to recreate this moment.
McDonald’s, which has a robust social media presence, tapped into this viral trend. Not only that, they shared their own version of Naoya’s iconic hair-flip during a battle scene. They added a witty caption for effect: “effortlessly hamburgling.”
In the anime-style meme, a masked character flips a hamburger on his friend’s face, who looks taken aback. The other man is carrying a McDonald’s packet with their signature “M” logo, showcasing perfect product placement. Unsurprisingly, the post has garnered 30K likes, 3.7K retweets, 2.5K bookmarks, and 275 comments as of writing.
One fan commented, “Holy smokes!! It looks like he’s doing Super Saiyan Ultra Instinct stuff right there.” A second fan wrote, “effortlessly hamburgling,” accompanied by a burger emoji. A third fan penned, “Intern deserves a raise,” followed by a fire emoji. Finally, a fourth fan remarked, “This wasn’t on my 2026 bingo card but I’m here for it.”
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time McDonald’s tapped into a viral Jujutsu Kaisen trend. Previously, in July 2024, McDonald’s introduced a Jujutsu Kaisen-inspired sauce called “Special Grade” garlic sauce. Each packet contains one of the eight iconic characters of the anime, including Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and the villainous Sukuna (via Food 6 Wine).
Not only that, anime fans were eligible for a free 30-day Crunchyroll trial subscription with the Jujutsu Kaisen-themed order.
