The second season of a historical heist drama series is premiering on Hulu soon. The Artful Dodger Season 2, the release date for which was revealed last month, is slated to arrive on the streaming service next month. Notably, the upcoming season’s first official trailer was released last month, giving fans a glimpse into the second season’s storyline and character dynamics.
James McNamara, David Maher, and David Taylor co-created The Artful Dodger. The series stars Thomas Brodie-Sangster as the titular protagonist. Supporting cast members include David Thewlis, Maia Mitchell, Tim Minchin, Luke Carroll, and Susie Porter, among others.
The Artful Dodger Season 2 arrives on Hulu soon
All episodes of The Artful Dodger Season 2 will be released on February 10, 2026. The second season comes roughly three years after the first season’s release on November 29, 2023. Like Season 1, Season 2 will have a total of eight episodes.
The first trailer for Season 2 was released on December 16, 2025.
Season 1 proved to be a huge success, receiving an impressive 92% “certified fresh” and 96% audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, Metacritic gave the show a Metascore of 67 and a user score of 8.2. The former indicates “generally favorable” reviews while the latter denotes “universal acclaim.”
The Artful Dodger serves as a sequel to Charles Dickens’ popular novel Oliver Twist. The series takes place years after the events of the novel and finds Jack Dawkins, formerly the pickpocket, The Artful Dodger, living and working in 1850s Australia as a surgeon, after having served as one in the Royal Navy. However, Dawkins’ life turns upside down after his surrogate father, and former mentor from his thieving days, Fagin, returns to his life.
The Artful Dodger Season 2 will continue from where Season 1 left off. At the end of the last season, Captain Lucien Gaines arrested Jack after he successfully performed surgery on Lady Belle Fox, who diagnosed herself with an aortic aneurysm, and saved her life. In jail, he reunited with Fagin, who was reimprisoned after killing Gaines, whom he secured a pardon from earlier. The season concluded on an ambiguous note, with Fagin teasing Jack about the latter being his convict servant.
In Season 2, Jack, who escapes his scheduled execution, is hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman. Complicating things for Jack is Boxer becoming his rival for Lady Belle’s affections. Fagin also drags him into a dangerous heist.
