Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series The Off Weeks continues to build its cast, with a familiar face from HBO’s Succession reportedly joining the project led by Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain.
Succession actor joins the cast of Apple TV’s The Off Weeks
Arian Moayed has joined the cast of The Off Weeks, Apple TV+’s upcoming limited series, which stars and is executive-produced by Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain, Deadline reported. The series, which will feature eight episodes, comes from executive producer and showrunner Alissa Nutting.
Moayed will play Angelo, the boss of Gus Adler, the central character played by Stiller. The Off Weeks follows Gus, a writing professor whose life is thrown into disarray following his divorce. He struggles to keep things together during “on weeks,” when he has custody of his children. During his “off weeks,” however, Gus becomes dangerously involved with Stella West, a mysterious woman played by Chastain. Her coming into his life puts Gus’ responsibilities and desires on a collision course that threatens to upend both sides of his life.
Moayed is best known for his role as Stewy Hosseini on Succession, which ran for four seasons and got him Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in both 2022 and 2023. His recent television work includes Netflix’s Nobody Wants This Season 2, Inventing Anna, and Ms. Marvel. While his film credits include Guy Ritchie’s Fountain of Youth and House of Spoils, he is also going to appear next in Marvel Television’s Wonder Man.
Apple TV’s The Off Weeks also reunites Chastain and Moayed after their recent stage collaboration. The two previously featured together in the Broadway revival of A Doll’s House, which premiered in 2023 at the Hudson Theatre. Stiller, John Lesher, Chastain, Dean Bakopoulos, and Kelly Carmichael, among others, serve as executive producers.
