Bradley Cooper finally addressed the ongoing plastic surgery rumors. The Hangover star guested on the January 5 episode of the Smartless podcast. The actor finally responded to the internet’s concerns over his supposed changed appearance to hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. Notably, Cooper was there to promote his new directorial movie Is This Thing On?
Bradley Cooper talks about plastic surgery rumors
Bradley Cooper breaks the silence on the recent viral plastic surgery rumors on the January 5 episode of the Smartless podcast. At one point, Arnett recounted the time when he was asked to name one thing about Cooper that people did not know. He shared, “I said, ‘Well, there’s a lot.’ And then I was gonna say, because we keep reading everybody thinks that Bradley’s had plastic surgery. Everybody keeps saying that. I’m like, ‘What people don’t know is that he hasn’t.’”
To which Bateman responded that he (Cooper) hasn’t (changed his appearance). Arnett agreed and added, “Of course, he hasn’t.” Cooper jumped into the conversation to clarify the ongoing rumors surrounding his supposed changed appearance. He dished, “No, I get people [coming] up to me the last couple weeks. They’re like, ‘Oh, you look good!’ Yeah. Yeah, but it’s crazy.”
Arnett interjected that it made him “mad” because “people say that all the time and it’s a hilarious thing.” “Everybody thinks that they know. You know, you read that bulls**t stuff,” the Arrested Development star added.
The A Star Is Born actor did not give much fodder to the supposed plastic surgery rumors. However, this isn’t the first time the 51-year-old star has clarified his stance on his changed appearance. Cooper previously clarified the reason behind wearing a prosthetic nose to portray iconic Leonard Bernstein in the 2023 film Maestro.
The actor told CBS Mornings, “The truth is, I’ve done this whole project out of love. And it’s so clear to me where I come from, my nose is very similar to Lenny’s actually. The prosthetic is actually like a silk sheet.” (via E News).
Furthermore, at the time, Cooper also explained why he used prosthetics to add authenticity to the character. He stated, “It’s all about balance, and, you know, my lips are nothing like Lenny’s, and my chin. And so we had that, and it just didn’t look right. We just had to do it. Otherwise, I wouldn’t believe he’s a human being.”
