With the midseason return of Brilliant Minds Season 2 proving to be chaotically eventful, showrunner Michael Grassi has come out to tie all the loose ends from Episode 11, including the two character exits.

In a recent interview, the veteran writer and producer opened up about Dr. Vance Van Markus and Dr. Jacob Nash’s future in the series, clarifying if the duo’s time in Brilliant Minds has come to an end.
Michael Grassi says Brilliant Minds fans will ‘definitely hear about’ Van Markus and Jacob
While speaking with TV Insider, Grassi confirmed that both Van Markus (Alex MacNicoll) and Jacob Nash (Spence Moore II) have left Brilliant Minds Season 2 for good. Nevertheless, the showrunner also noted that they are not ruling out their potential return in subsequent installments.
“I love Spence, and I love Alex,” Grassi said before adding, “They’ve been with the show from the very beginning, and I’m a huge fan of theirs, and they are still very much a part of our world. And in that last scene, Wolf says something that he means; he says, ‘My door is always open.’ So my hope is that this is not the last we will see of Van and Jacob on Brilliant Minds.”
Notably, in Brilliant Minds Season 2 Episode 11, Michelle (Stacey Farber) is pronounced brain dead following her fateful car crash. Understandably, Van Markus is distraught after losing his girlfriend and copes by imagining what their life could’ve been. Ultimately, he decides to step back from his position and focus his energy on caring for his son. Meanwhile, Jacob Nash also leaves his post at Bronx General Hospital after accepting an offer from a sports clinic in Dallas.
Although Grassi admitted that fans won’t be seeing Van Markus and Jacob in the remaining episodes of Brilliant Minds Season 2, he later insisted, “They’re still a part of our world. We’ll definitely hear about them and hopefully hear from them. And my hope in my prayer is that we’ll see them soon.”
Having returned to the small screen following a brief hiatus, Brilliant Minds Season 2 will premiere new episodes weekly on Monday nights.
