Big changes are coming to Married at First Sight ahead of the new season. Fans wondering who is leaving the show before Season 20 now have answers, as it prepares for a new chapter with a fresh expert panel.
Three experts are leaving Married at First Sight ahead of Season 20
Peacock has announced that Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson and Dr. Pia Holec are leaving the Married at First Sight. The show will replace them with three new experts. This change marks a fresh start as the series reaches its 20th season.
Speaking to Variety, Kinetic Content founder and CEO Chris Coelen said the team is excited to start a new chapter of MAFS with Peacock. “We’re thrilled to be embarking on a brand new chapter of the MAFS journey with our partners at Peacock. We’re excited for the future and honored to have worked alongside Dr. Pepper, Pastor Cal, and Dr. Pia.”
Coelen noted, “Dr. Pepper has been with us from the beginning and Pastor Cal joined us shortly thereafter; their unwavering wisdom, insight, and passion has been a guiding light for us throughout the seasons.”
Dr. Pepper Schwartz, who has been part of MAFS since 2014, said, “As I step away, I do so with immense pride in what this franchise has accomplished and deep confidence in its future,” she said, adding that she leaves with “gratitude and optimism.”
Pastor Cal thanked the participants for trusting him with important moments in their lives, calling his exit the start of a new chapter. He said, “Your courage, honesty, and willingness to believe in the process reminded me time and again why this work matters.”
Dr. Pia shared that she loved her time on the show but stepped away to focus on her family. “I genuinely loved my time on Married at First Sight, and working alongside franchise OGs turned friends, like Dr. Pepper and Pastor Cal. I’m proud of the time we’ve spent with each person who so bravely took this step in finding love.”
MAFS Season 20 is expected to premiere in 2026.
